Welcome to our blog! We wanted to keep a record of our adventures and keep in touch with our friends and family that live in other cities. Matt was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jennifer was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Molly joined our family in January 2007, Caleigh was born in July 2008, and Miller was born in January 2011. Since then, we have been very busy raising our family and having a little fun along the way!

Back in Calgary

Well, summer holidays are officially over and while I'm glad to be at home, I sure wish I didn't have to go to work! All in all, holidays were fantastic!

Matt and I stayed at Dean & Robyn's in the Hat. They just had a little girl on July 27 that they named Lainey Shea Fischer. She is such a beautiful little girl, and we were very fortunate to spend as much time with them as we did. They have decorated the nursury beautifully, and are doing really well with a brand new baby at home. She is a very good little girl, sleeping quite a bit. Molly was very busy in the yard playing with Clinger, and was really good while we were gone too! She is going to learn the hard way some day that the cats don't like playing with her!

Aaron & Karen's wedding was beautiful. It was an afternoon ceremony in a park, with the reception later that evening just down the street. The food was amazing, and the speaches and singing were fantastic. It was so nice to see some of our friends that we haven't seen in a while. Matt was a groomsman, and did a very good job, despite all the heat. He looked very handsome standing up there in a tux! A few of us went to Earls' to grab some food while the bridal party took pictures, and then I met Matt finally at the reception! We had not seen each other for most of the day, so it was really nice that he was able to sit with me throughout the evening. Aaron's children Jacob and Emma were part of the wedding party, and Emma even sang a song for Aaron and Karen! It was really sweet. Aaon and Karen are on their honeymoon right now in Thailand, and I hope to see them when they get home to hear how that went!

On Sunday, Matt and I stopped for lunch with Grandma before heading to Saskatoon. She really enjoys her new home, and we even had brunch there with her. She seems to be doing quite well, we just wish that we could go see her more often! She seems to have quite a few friends at her new place, it was really nice to see her so happy.

We had an uneventful drive to Saskatoon, arriving around supper on Sunday of the long weekend. It was really nice to be home again and see all of my family. I really wish that we had the time to get home more often, but it forches us to make the most of the little time we have together. It seems that we go to bed later and later, waking up earlier and earlier just to spend a few more hours together.

On Monday, we all drove up to Wakaw lake for a few days. Mom, Dad, Shane, Paige, Matt and I went golfing on Monday, and had a nice dinner before everyone had to go back to the city. Mom, Matt and I stayed for a few more days before heading back to Saskatoon. We took the dogs swimming, read a few magazines, went golfing, and watched some movies. Nothing too exciting, but really relaxing, which was exactly what we needed.

On Thursday, Matt and I had to take the 4Runner to get the windshield fixed, and had a meeting with the Admissions Department of the College of Medcine at the U of S. It was great to be able to sit down with someone who knows what she is talking about, and is willing to take the time to help you and guide you through some decisions that need to be made, and she even took the time to go through Matt's transcripts and showed us some things that need to be followed up on. It feels like she pointed us in the right direction, and it looks like he has a pretty good chance of getting into the U of S...especially after inheriting Saskatchewan Residency for marrying me!

Our windshield had been making quite a bit of noise while we were driving on the highway. It turns out that whoever installed the windsheild did not attach it to the body of the truck, they just simply used weather stripping to hold it in place. We were very lucky that nothing bad happened. The windshield ended up costing us quite a bit of money, but it was much better to get it done when we did, then risk driving back the way it was.

We spent all day Friday doing some last minute running around, decorating the reception hall and going to the church for the rehearsal for Devin & Angie's wedding. After the reception, a few family and friends came over to mom and dad's house for a little party before the big day. We had friends and family over that I haven't seen in a while, and it was really nice to be able to spend some time with them before the wedding (and find out that people ACTUALLY DO read this blog! I was shocked! Thanks Auntie Shelley!)

Devin & Angie's wedding was so much fun! I went over to Angie's mom's house in the morning to get ready with all of the other bridesmaids. Matt stayed at Mom and Dad's house to clean and decorate the cars. We met at the church just before the ceremony. Devin wore his RCMP uniform to the ceremony, and Ashton wore a tux, and did they ever look nice. Angie definately stole the show though. She was stunning! The ceremony was beautiful, and then we all went to the University for pictures afterward. We took pictures for a few hours, while Matt and the rest of the family went back to the house to get the cake (that Angie, her mom, my mom, and I made!!!) and feed the dogs. We all made it through our speaches flawlessly, and had such a great time at the dance. Dinner was fantastic, and since the bridal party hadn't ate for most of the day, I was sure glad that we got to go through the buffet first! We ended up staying until the very end, and helping to clean up. The dance was so much fun, and it was great to see so many people that I haven't seen in a long time. Devin and Angie made a slideshow for the reception, and it was really cute! I can't believe how much Ashton looks like Devin!

Sunday we went to Angie's mom and dad's house for the gift opening. It was a rough morning for a few of us! We weren't able to stay as long as we would have liked to, but we had to get back to Calgary. I guess we'll be back in less than 2 weeks for Jay & Hilary's wedding, and we'll get to see everyone again! Matt and I haven't been to a wedding together yet this year, so we are really looking forward to Jay & Hilary's! One of us has always been in the wedding party. We drove back to Saskatoon with Amanda, who had been visiting her mom for a few days. It was really nice to have someone to talk to while Matt got some studying done.

Molly had such a great time on holidays. She had the big yard to run around in, and she was outside running around for the majority of the day. She also had quite a few friends at the house, including Shadow and Bhody, but I think she had the most fun with Nala. Those two would play for hours, and you were never really sure if they were playing or fighting! I'm sure Molly will be very loney and bored for the next week or so, at least until she gets used to her routine again!

They finally finished our deck while we were on holidays. They took the deck apart in May to fix it, but never came back! We have not had a deck for most of the summer, so it was a really nice suprise to see it finished when we got back.

We are not planning on too much over then next couple weeks. Matt writes the MCAT again on August 20th. This will be the first time that he has written the exam electronically, which I think will be good for him. I am volunteering at the homeless shelter in Calgary on Wednesday for work, which should be an eye-opening experience. Matt has to get registered for the rest of his classes right away, and all of his funding paperwork taken care of. Most med schools have application deadlines quickly approaching, so he needs to get everything else out of the way so that he can concentrate on that!

I hope eveyone is having a nice summer,

Jenn & Matt & Molly

PS Happy Belated Birthday Mom!!!
