Labor....

On September 6, Matt and I had to go to Foothills Hospital to be induced. Upon arrival at the Labor and Delivery ward, we were told what to expect over the next few hours. Once the medication was administered, we went for a walk and a little snack. I was feeling fine for the first few hours, so we decided to try to get some sleep. We awoke at 4am to the start of contractions that continued to come more and more quickly and intensly until about noon. Once I delivered our little girl, we were able to spend a few short hours with her before we had to let her go. She was the most beautiful little girl we had ever seen. She had her dad's eyes, and my mouth.

We left the hospital a few hours later, with a few keepsakes of our little girl. They gave us her footprints, her first outfit, and the blanket she was wrapped in. We also were given a Certificate of Life that has her legal name, Hannah Marie Husband, her weight, length, date and time of her birth. These are all keepsakes that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

The days and weeks that followed have been tough. There has been many sad days, and many tearful nights. We will always have our little girl in our hearts, and we know we will see her again someday. Matt promised her that we would make her a big sister someday soon, and I know that we will keep that promise.
