Happy New Years!!!

Devin and Angie had a few days off after Christmas, so they took the opportunity to take a road trip out to Alberta. While they were out here, we took them out to Lake Louise to do some snowboarding. It was a great day, and the weather could not have been better. We did a few runs, and then stopped for a brown-bag lunch that Angie and I packed. The afternoon on the hill found us at the Kokanee deck having a few pitures of beer. We stopped in Banff on the way home for some sight-seeing, which made for a perfect day. It was nice spending some time with them. They travelled to Sylvain Lake to spend New Year's with Angie's friends, before coming back to Calgary to do a little shopping. Devin had to get back to work, so they left shortly after. It was really nice having them, and we hope they can come out again soon.
New Year's was a blast! What had started out as a quiet evening at home ended up being a party at our house. We had a few friends over for the evening, and it turned out to be a success. Appetizers, drinks, and the company of good friends is always a great way to spend any holiday. A little Cranium was played, some champange was consumed, and everyone had a great time. We were glad that everyone made it over, some even stayed the night!
2006 has turned out to be a good year so far. I found a new job as a research assistant in the Investment Banking Division of Tristone Capital. It has been a wonderful change, although I do miss the travel industry. This job will be a great opportunity to further my career. The job is great, and the perks are fantastic. Everyone I work with has been really nice, and the job is actually alot of fun. Matt has worked a few shifts at the hospital, and always comes home with lots of stories. He is really enjoying the job, and the hours are very flexible so they never interfere with his school.
Matt and I spent last weekend in Edmonton with friends for the First Annual Veronica Palace hockey tournament. It was amazing to see fifty friends and their spouses travel from all over Alberta to get together for the weekend and play a little hockey. Team Calgary lost 8 - 9, but with a little practice I'm sure they will be victorious next year. We had a great time socializing with friends, and got some shopping done in West Edmonton Mall. Both Matt and I needed some things for our trip, and we were able to find everything we needed there!
The next three weeks will find Matt and I preparing for our vacation to Mexico. We are very excited to spend a whole week laying in the sun. We did some shopping in Edmonton, but I have some more to do before we leave. We also need to get to a tanning salon before we head into that kind of sun!
Hope this finds you all well,
Jenn
