Welcome to our blog! We wanted to keep a record of our adventures and keep in touch with our friends and family that live in other cities. Matt was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jennifer was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Molly joined our family in January 2007, Caleigh was born in July 2008, and Miller was born in January 2011. Since then, we have been very busy raising our family and having a little fun along the way!

Everyone's Getting Married!

The last few weeks have found Matt and I attending a few stag and stagette parties. On March 17th, Matt went out to Golden, BC as he was invited to his brother Michael's stag. They all went out on Friday night to celebrate St. Patrick's day, and I'm sure they must have found a few pints of Guiness at the nieghbourhood pub. The weather was fantastic on Saturday, so everyone grabbed their snowboards and went to Kicking Horse. It had snowed overnight and throughout the day, so the powder was excellent. Unfortunately the views were not as good because of the snow, but they had a great day of riding anyway. Saturday night found the guys eating a gourmet meal prepared at the cabin. Jim brought up a tenderloin, and a few of the guys said that they were the best steaks of their lives. They also had a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournamnet that night. Caroline's brother won both tournaments and good times were had by all. Matt and his dad drove home Sunday afternoon, and Matt was a very tired boy!

On March 24th, it was Caroline's turn! This time all the girls piled into their cars and went out to Banff. We all met at the Magpie and Stump for Mexican food and marguritas and then went shopping in Banff. The only store that everyone actually found was the candy store! We all stopped and got some wine and then went back to the cabin that we had rented at the Juniper. There was wine, stories, many laughs, and a pinata that we will never talk about again! We topped the night off at Aurora, before going back to the cabin. Caroline's sister Angela made a wonderful breakfast for everyone before heading back to Calgary. This time it was my turn to come home a very tired girl. I spent all day Sunday sleeping while Matt was at work.

'Tis the season for weddings! Weddings are a great time, and even getting prepared to go to one is fun. Mike and Caroline are getting married on May 20th here in Calgary, and Devin and Angie are getting married on August 7th in Saskatoon. Matt and I are getting married the first week of January, 2007 in Mexico. It seems like alot of weddings in the next year, it's going to be great. Matt is standing up for his brother in May, and I will be a bridesmaid for Angie in August. Matt and I will be heading to Edmonton soon to get fitted for the suit he will be wearing to Mike's wedding. We sent out our 'Save the Date' cards last week and got our first phone call yesterday saying that it had arrived. Some of them were hand delivered to friends last weekend, but I'm glad to hear that the mailed ones are starting to arrive. They were my make-busy project the weekend Matthew was away, and I'm glad they're done! Planning a wedding can be alot of work, but it's alot of fun too!

My mom and dad are in Raleigh, North Carolina right now visiting my mom's sister, Shelley and her family. They have had the chance to see 4 NHL games, as well as Taylor's dance recital. Matt is hoping that his name is on some of the paraphonelia that they're bring back, especially the game puck signed by Ovetchkin, who Matt thinks is the ringer for Rookie of the Year. I would like to have the signed jersey we have now sealed and properly framed, maybe that's what Matt will get for his birthday, but I think he has his eye on a PlayStation 2. It would be nice to properly preserve our hockey memoribilia in a collection for the office.

This weekend we are watching Kristin and Tony's little boys, Simon and Jonah. I am hoping the weather will cooporate so that we can go to the Calgary Zoo on Saturday afternoon, but we might have to make indoor plans. Unfortunately, Matt and I are not very current when it comes to kids activities! We were thinking maybe the Science Centre, but I'm sure they would rather go to the zoo. We deinately want to have something planned before we get out there. They are such good little boys, but they are very active. I hope that Matt and I can keep up...I'm sure we'll be fine.

I hope this finds everyone doing well, and I hope everyone gets their invitations soon! Wish us luck on the weekend...I think we might need it!

Miss you all,
Jenn

March already???

I can't believe how quickly time has been going by lately. I have been busy trying to get organized since our return from Mexico, including making a photo album with some of our photos from the trip. We have decided to use one shot for our wedding invitations and save the date cards, which has also been keeping me very busy. I have suddenly realized in the wake of Mike and Caroline's upcoming wedding that I have alot of planning to do, none of which has been started. Since the decision to get married in Mexico was made, nothing more has been done. I guess if I want a stress free wedding, I should get some of the bigger details ironed out as soon as possible.

Matt and I went out to Cochrane for a fantasic meal (as always...) and a visit with his family the weekend after we returned from Cancun. Kristin, Tony, Simon and Jonah are finally back from Australia, and it was great to finally have Matt's entire family together under the same roof. The boys are such fun, and just a bundle of energy at this age...I don't know how Kristin keeps up with them day after day! Matt and I are going to have the opportunity to take care of the boys for a few days while Tony and Kristin celebrate their anniversary in their honeymoon destination...Cancun! I am so excited to have them to ourselves for a few days.

My friend Amanda came back to town again last week for more job interviews, and she got a position! She's been hired by a law firm about three blocks away from my work, and I can only think of one thing...lunch date! She is officially moving back to Calgary, even if it's just for a few months. We're very excited to have her back. Hopefully she finds out about her acceptance to the University of Calgary soon so that she can get settled in.

This weekend finds all of the Husband boys driving to Kicking Horse for Michael's stag. Everyone is heading up Friday afternoon for some snowboarding, poker, and any other trouble they can get their hands on! They have rented a cabin on the mountain, and all of Mike's friends will be there. Friday night they will be celebrating St. Patrick's day with a night on the town, followed by a day of snowboarding and a Texas Hold 'Em Poker tournament Saturday. I'm sure Matt will be very tired when they finally get home Sunday night. Next weekend is Caroline's stagette and a few of the girls will be going out to Banff to celebrate. We will be spending Saturday in the Spa and going out for martini's that evening. We got some great rates at a hotel out there, and it will be nice to meet some of Caroline's friends before the big day.

It looks like Matt and I will be packing up and heading to Saskatchewan for Easter. I am very excited to see my family again, as Matt and I haven't seen my mom and dad since Christmas Day. Mom wants to take care of some of the wedding details that weekend, and I'm quite sure that the guys will be able to entertain themselves in our absence. Devin and Angie will also be in Saskatoon that weekend, which sounds like a great time. I think it will be fun going to bridal shops with another bride-to-be! This is the kind of shopping that you only do once in your lifetime...

Hopefully this finds everyone doing well, and we hope to see you soon!
