Welcome to our blog! We wanted to keep a record of our adventures and keep in touch with our friends and family that live in other cities. Matt was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jennifer was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Molly joined our family in January 2007, Caleigh was born in July 2008, and Miller was born in January 2011. Since then, we have been very busy raising our family and having a little fun along the way!

Summer has Arrived!

I know summer doesn't officially start until June 21, but with the weather lately, I think we should start early! It felt like it rained the entire summer last year, and we have had a couple weeks already where is is 30 degrees outside and not a cloud in the sky! Matt and I have taken advantage of the sunshine by having lunch on the Ship & Anchor Patio (Best Patio in Calgary!) and we went fly fishing last Sunday just north of Cochrane. I have never been fly fishing before, and it was fun! Hopefully this weather will continue and we will be able to go camping on the weekends!

Mike and Caroline got married last Saturday! We had the rehersal on Friday night, followed by a party at her sister Angela's house. The food was incredible! Mike came back to our place afterward to spend the night and the boys got ready together Saturday morning. The ceremony was beautiful, with one of the best sermons I have ever heard at a wedding. After the ceremony, we went to a park downtown to take some photos of the whole family before the wedding party went off on their own. They ended up all over Calgary taking some pretty neat shots. I took this opportunity to go for some appetizers with Jim, Norah, and Grandma at Murietta's. The reception was at Divino's and was one of the best evenings I've ever had! The drinks were good, the food was fantastic, and the croud was even better. Matt and I didn't get home until way past our bedtime, but it was well worth it! They definately set the standard for elegant weddings! We went out to Cochrane on Sunday afternoon for a tea at Matt's parents house, and the weather was great. We ended up sitting outside in the backyard, soaking up the sun and the view. We had to leave a little early to get some wedding stuff done, but it was a good time.

Matt and I planted our very first bedding plants! Our back deck looks like a jungle, but we like it. I think we may have gotten a little carried away! We went to Wal-Mart to pick up some pots, and then off to the greenhouse to get some plants. It was great to spend the day just the two of us, we had fun. It is really nice to have a home to do these kind of things. We are really enjoying the yard at this house.

Matt is graduating with his diploma in Disability Studies on Friday, June 2. My parents are coming to Calgary for the day, and then heading out to Banff on Saturday to celebrate their anniversary. I think we may have a few people over to our house on Friday night, just to celebrate, and mom wants to do some running around Calgary before they leave for Banff. I would really like to get the dresses for the wedding ordered soon. According to the bridal shop, it has to be ordered by June 1 to guarantee it will be here in time.

Well, we have officially started the booking process for the wedding! We have 14 people booked, and the invitations should be arriving at your houses any day. We hope that our new website and invitations help to clarify everything that is happening, but feel free to call us if you have any questions. We are so excited to actually start getting some things for this wedding secured!

Have a good day,

Jenn (& Matt)

Another year older!

We had Matt's birthday party last Friday night, and it was great! Almost everyone that we invited came over to share in the celebration, and a few more showed up that night. We had a suprise visit from the neighbors who simply wanted to come over to say hi and have a drink with us! It was really nice to finally meet some of the neighbors. Matt collected a few more birthday presents, but was happiest that everyone made the effort to come over.

Saturday night was Caroline's shower, and I had alot of fun. Jim, Tony and the boys came over to our house after a busy day at the zoo to visit with Matt while we were at the shower. Caroline recceived many nice gifts, and it was really nice to see all the girls again.

Matt worked early Sunday morning, so Amanda and I went shopping for the wedding. We think we have found the bridesmaid dresses but are still unsure what color would be best. The store that we went to said that they carried my dress, but when we got there they didn't have it in stock which was disappointing. I have called around the city and found a store way in the SouthEast that has it in stock so we are going to go look at it on Thursday after work. Hopefully everything works out this time.

Mom and Dad are finally coming out to Calgary. They are going to come on Thursday, June 1 so that they are in town for Matt's graduation on Friday, June 2nd. Saturday they will be going out to Banff for the night using the gift certificate that we got them for Christmas. Matt and I may join them for the day on Saturday, I haven't been to the hot springs in months! It just happens that this weekend is their anniversary as well, so it will be a nice treat for them. We can't wait to see them, but wish that their stay was a little longer.

My cousin Nicole is in town from Saskatoon, and she is coming over tonight for dinner and a visit. I haven't seen her in months, and Matt has never met her, so it will be nice to have her over. Everyone else is doing well, and things around our house are hectic as usual. We just seem to be getting busier and busier, I'm almost ready for another holiday!

If you have time, check out our new website:

We set this site up to help with the wedding, and it is almost completed, we are still waiting on the travel agency though.

See you soon,

Jenn

Happy Birthday Matt!!!

That's right! Friday, May 5th is not only Mexico's national holiday, but it is also Matt's 28th birthday! I thought I would take this opportunity to throw a party in Matt's honour, so we are having some friends and family over for dinner and drinks. He has received a few early birthday presents, including cash from my parents (thanks guys!) and I bought him the Calgary Flames jersey that he's always wanted. We are having people over for a bbq and drinks, good times and lots of laughs. We have spent this week getting ready after work (between Flames games, of course!), and hopefully everything will turn out well.

Saturday night is Caroline's shower. It is being held at a friend of Caroline's house, and it should be a fun time. Matt's mom and sister will also be in attendance, and it will be nice to see them again. I think we are almost ready for the wedding. Matt and I went shopping last weekend and got him a new shirt and tie that is similar to Mike's and I got a new dress. We'll be looking good!

The most exciting news that we have had in the last few weeks comes out of Nipawin. Devin and Angie are having a baby! We are very happy for them, and very excited to become Auntie Jenn and Uncle Matt to another niece or nephew. They are about 3 months along, with the baby due at the end of November. We are so happy for them, and wish that we could be there more often to see them.

Things for the wedding are shaping up well, and we are almost ready to book. There are a few details with the travel agency that we are trying to iron out, and when those are taken care of, we can go ahead and start putting deposits down! We still need to choose the invitations, which got pushed back due to the party. That will definately be a priority for later in the weekend.

Hope this finds everyone well, and we'll see you soon!

Jenn
