Welcome to our blog! We wanted to keep a record of our adventures and keep in touch with our friends and family that live in other cities. Matt was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jennifer was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Molly joined our family in January 2007, Caleigh was born in July 2008, and Miller was born in January 2011. Since then, we have been very busy raising our family and having a little fun along the way!

Summer has Arrived!

It seems summer is in full swing. The weather here has been fantastic, and it looks like it should stay that way for a while. We have been spending alot of time outside, and really enjoying all that Calgary has to offer.

Last Sunday was a fantastic day. Ty, Candace, Rod, Bird, Matt and I rented a raft from the University of Calgary and spent the day floating down the Elbow River. What a great time! We had a few beverages, a few spills into the river, and alot of laughs. I honestly can't think of a better way to spend a day in the summer.

It looks like Matt and I will be spending the upcoming long weekend in Saskatoon. Matt was supposed to write an exam on Sunday, basically ruining the weekend but it was moved yesterday to the following Saturday. We haven't been home for a long time, and it should be good, even on such short notice. It will be nice to head back to Saskatoon to do some golfing and possibly some boating. I need to get my hair cut and buy some shoes that I've had my eye on and unable to find here in Calgary.

Stampede is a mere week away! Downtown is transformed from suits and business to coyboys and parties. I am definately looking forward to a week of 'work' and wearing jeans! Matt and I are going to the Alan Jackson concert on July 15, which should be a fantastic time! We are so excited about it.

Things for the wedding are coming along, but it seems as though we finish one thing, and four more pop up! Matt is working on the music and some photos, and I am still dealing with the Travel Agency and the hotel on many different things. As of right now, we have 38 people booked to come to the wedding! Matt and I cannot believe how many people are making such a huge effort to be a part of our big day. What a compliment and honor it is to have all of the people we love together to celebrate with us!

Hope things are well for everyone and we hope to see you soon,
Jenn (& Matt)

Cane's win!!!! Cane's win!!!!

What an unbelievable win for the Carolina Hurricane's! The 2006 Stanley Cup Champions!!! Jenn and I cheered through every game even though we were out-numbered everytime by the Edmonton fans here in Calgary. We are very proud of Uncle Pete and Jack for working so hard on and off the ice. Thank-you to Auntie Shelly for sending us some great gear to remember the occasion by! Way to go!!!

Go Canes Go!

The Carolina Hurricanes are the Eastern Conference winners, and are heading into Game 4 tonight in Edmonton leading the Stanley Cup Series 2 - 1. We're cheering for Uncle Peter, Jack, and the rest of the Canes team!

Mom and Dad came to Calgary for the weekend of Matt's graduation, and then we all went to Banff to spend the day on Saturday. It was really nice to spend some time with them, and Matt and I haven't been to Banff since last winter.

Nothing too exciting has been happening around our house lately. Matt is busy studying for his exam in August, and work for me has been really busy lately.

Things for the wedding are starting to fall into place. We have 25 people booked already, and more to come. My mom bought my dress a couple weeks ago, and we went shopping for Matt's suit yesterday. We also went to Ikea yesterday and finished the centerpeices for the reception. Some details are still up in the air, but I am pretty comfortable with where we're at right now.

Other than that, nothing too exciting. I'll do another post in a few weeks, or maybe Matt can do one!

Big Day for Matt...

I thought that I would throw in a photo of me and my little buddy Simon. Seriously, one of the cutest kids I've ever seen, and really loves his Uncle Matt and Auntie Jenn!

Tomorrow is a big day for Matt. He is officially done his education at Mount Royal College and moving to the University of Calgary to finish his degree. This involves a graduation ceremony tomorrow at Mount Royal. My mom and Dad are coming out to Calgary for it, and Matt's parents will be there as well. After all of the official events are over (late in the afternoon), we are all going back to our house for a BBQ. I believe that some friends are coming over later in the evening for some drinks and festivities, which will be really nice.

Saturday we are all driving out to Banff for the day. We gave mom and dad a 'Weekend in gBanff' for Christmas, and they are staying at the Rundlestone on Saturday night. We would like to go up the gondola, as Matt and I haven't done that since the night we got engaged. We would also like to do some shopping, and hit up the hot springs. Matt works on Sunday morning, so we'll go back to Calgary in good time.

Wedding plans are coming along. It is really hard to plan something via email. I have sent the hotel about 10 emails about the wedding package, and they have responded to me once.I guess I'll just have to keep sending the email, since I can't call them. Other than that, I have gotten all of the girls dressed, and the guys have a little planning yet to do. I also found out last night that Caroline is a master bouquet maker (as proclaimed by me!), so I think she might be in charge of the flowers when we get down there. That takes a huge weight off my shoulders.

We're off to have a great weekend, and hope that everyone elses plans work out as well!

Love ya,

Jenn (& Matt)
