It's A Boy!!!

That's right, Devin & Angie had their much-anticipated baby, a boy named Ashton Andrew Garner on November 18, 2006. He is happy and healthy, with dark hair and eyes. Angie has had a tough time with the recovery, and we hope that things start getting better for her so she can truely enjoy that little guy. Everyone is finally at home and trying to settle in. Matt and I will be flying out there to see the new addition on December 15 for the weekend and celebrate Christmas with my family a little early.
Four weeks until Matt and I leave for Mexico! With the cold weather we're experiencing right now, it will be great to feel the warm sand under our feet. Things for the wedding are coming along as quickly as can be expected. Caroline and Kristin threw a shower for me on November 18, and the next weekend was Matt'a stag. The stag started at 1:00 in the afternoon, with a coach bus picking the group up at 5:00 for a pub crawl. I think everyone had a great time, but the party was cut short due to Matt hitting his head. I think everyone was 'full' at that point anyway. Instead of the girls sitting at their individual homes alone, they all came over to our house where we had martini's. We had a great time. It is really approaching quickly, and now that all the parties are over, we really need to concentrate on completing the remainng tasks. The legal portion of our paperwork is complete, and now we are just waiting for the Consulate of Mexico to Apostille the birth certificates and then we will be done! Yay!
Matt has an interview on Friday for a second job. He will not be taking on any additional hours, but they would like him to help out in anesthesia once per week. This exposure will be great for his career, especially since he is contemplating anesthesia as a specialization. They have contacted him, agter aproaching him and asking him to apply. It is quite a compliment to have the hospital ask him. In other 'job' news, I had my yearly review last week. It went very well, and I even got a raise! Yay! Things at Tristone have been very hectic and stressful, but it seems to be paying off.
We are hoping to see Tony & Kristin & the kids before they leave for Christmas. Family dinner would be nice, but it seems that we have left it too long and everyone is going in different directions. Matt's work Christmas party is on Friday, December 1, but unfortunately, mine is the same weekend we are going to Saskatoon. With parties and Matt trying to finish all of his school work and exmas, this Christmas is proving be just a hectic as ever! We are going to make sure that we see everyone we can before we leave for Mexico.
Hope everyone is staying warm,
Jenn (& Matt)
