Well, Matt and I are leaving for Mexico in less than 3 weeks...3 WEEKS!!! I can hardly believe that we have been planning this trip for almost one year, and it is almost time to go! We have so many things to do before we leave...
Matt and I are going to Nipawin this weekend for family Christmas and to meet our new nephew, Ashton! We are very excited. We decided that it was just too far to drive for two days, so we are going to fly. We leave Friday night for Saskatoon, Saturday morning for Nipawin, come back from Nipawin on Sunday afternoon and fly back to Calgary on Sunday night. It will be a busy weekend, but well worth it. We definately feel like we miss out so much by living so far away, and we enjoy getting back as often as possible. It is going to be great home, even just for a few days.
Last Sunday, Matt and I went to Tony & Kristin's house for Christmas brunch, as they will be on the East coast for the holidays. It was great to see the kids, and they definately enjoyed their new bikes from Nana and Papa. Putting the bikes together was quite a challenge for the men!
I have been busy at work lately with a very rewarding project. As a company, Tristone has decided to adopt some underpriviledged families in Calgary. These families are doing the best they can, but may need some help in the holiday season. This requires all of the Tristone staff to donate some money, which we then take and fulfill the families' 'Need List' as well as their 'Wish List'. Matt and I spent the weekend shopping for necessities, but we did the fun shopping tonight! We found a bunch of toys for all of the kids, and some nice treats for the moms. It definately reinforces the Christmas Spirit when you give a little of yourself to very deserving people.
We are pretty close to having everything finished for the wedding. Matt is threatening to write his vows on the plane, but I hope he is just teasing. We have slowly been getting eveything ready, but it seems my 'To Do' list just keeps getting longer and longer. We have sent all of our documentation to the Mexican Consulate, and received it all back, fully sealed and approved for use in Mexico. The alterations on my dress are finished tomorrow, and most of our wedding stuff is finished, or close to. Lately we have been focused on getting ready for two weeks in Mexico!!! I can hardly wait! Spending two weeks on the beach will be fantastic. I think Matt is really excited about welcoming in the New Year on the beach. It will definately be an experience! We are going to try to go scuba diving again, and we have decided to rent a car for our travels up to Cancun. This trip will definately be one to remember.
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas season, and hope to see all of our family and friends during this time. We hope this Chistmas finds you healthy and happy.
Love and best wishes,
Jenn (& Matt)
