Spring is Here!!!

Spring is finally here! This weekend was so nice, and this week is looking just as good. Molly really enjoys playing outside and with weather like this she can stay out there for hours!

We went to Medicine Hat this weekend as Aaron Close was turning 30. His fiance, Karen, threw him a party on Saturday night, and we had a great time. We stayed with friends Dean and Robyn, who are expecting their first baby in July! On Sunday we went for breakfast with Grandma, and met Tony, Kristin & the boys at the restaurant. Molly slept the whole way there and back, and was fairly well behaved at Dean and Robyn's. She was really happy to have found a new friend in Clinger!

We are still pretty excited about our new house. We had the inspection last week, and everything went well, except for the lack of permits in the basement. We have already hired an electrician to come by as soon as we get posession to inspect their work and aviod any hassles with fire insurance. Our mortgage documents have been signed, and our lawyer is beginning to work on the land title transfer. It seems as though everything is coming together! Matt and I even went through Home Depot last weekend thinking about all of the home renovation projects we could do. We are really happy that we are finally able to own our own home! We have so much work to do before we can move, but it will be worth it to have a place to call our own in the end! We have already started purging and packing, you never realize how much stuff you have until you have to move it!

Matt is still working both jobs, and going to school. His schedule has been pretty hectic this term, but he seems to be enjoying teaching, and has a couple other interesting classes including medical law, and medical ethics. He has been writing papers and studying for exams almost every night, so I'm sure he will be pretty happy when school ends for the summer.

Molly has been such a great addition to our family. We love having her around! We have been going for walks in the eveningon the paths in our area, she just loves it! We are thinking of taking her to an off-leash park soon, but I would like her to finish her immunizations before we expose her to multiple dogs. We are taking her in to get spayed on April 2. We wanted to get it done and over with before the move.

We're Moving!!!

Well Everyone,

We bought a house!!! Matt and I have been talking about buying a house for a while, but just did not think it was possible for us. We decided to give it a try and see what happened.

We talked to Yorkie, a friend of ours who happens to be a real estate agent, and he got right to work. In the last two weeks, we have looked at many homes in our price range, and nothing that we saw felt right. We looked at a couple of cute houses (and by cute, I mean REALLY small), and a few places that looked and smelled really bad. We felt like we were starting to get somewhere when we looked at a couple of townhouses that just needed some TLC, but they were still really small (600 - 800 square feet). Yorkie got a call saying that a place had just come to the market and we went to look at it immediately. They hadn't even listed it when we got there! We looked around and it was perfect for us! We put an offer on immediately, and after a few tense hours and some negotiations, the house was ours! The hardwood floors on the main floor are beautiful, and we love the open floor plan. There is enough room for a guest room, and an office for Matt. The master bedroom has its own bathroom and a walk-in closet! The basement is partially finished, and I'm sure Matt will spend a few weekends down there putting his personal touch on everything!

We officially move on April 30, 2007. It has been overwhelming to say the least. The bank needed alot more information than we were expecting, but thanks to the tireless efforts of Kelly and Linda, we were approved! If it wasn't for their hard work, I don't know where we would be! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We definately owe them HUGE! Yorkie has been working really hard for us as well going through condo documents and coordinating home inspections. He has been such a big help, we never could have done it without him! We had to find a lawyer (done - thanks to Ryan Schindel!) and we still have alot more to do. We are a little overwhelmed to say the least, but this is a very exciting time for us.

We are very excited to get moved, and show Molly her new home. I'm sure she's going to love the backyard, and the many puppies in the neighborhood! I can't wait to get moved. It sounds like mom and dad are going to come to Calgary to help us move (again!) and we should be able to get it all done in two days, if Matt and I start getting organized immediately! I know we have alot of stuff...
