Less than 2 weeks...

Well, it's official. Matt, Molly and I move in less than 2 weeks. 10 days to be exact. We have paked quite a bit of stuff, donated enough to fill another house, and thrown out ALOT of stuff. It was a tough trip down memory lane for 'Pack-Rat' Matt, but he is starting to realize that you don't need to keep everything from your childhood! We have the garage, spare bedroom, master bedroon, office and bathroom done except for the necessities. We have also packed up alot of the livingroom, and some of the kitchen. It sounds like we have quite a bit done, and we do, but there is still quite a bit left to do.

We are getting pretty excited about moving. It will be so nice to get into a place of our own, and actually be a part of the booming housing market, rather than just sitting on the sidelines. We are both pretty excited to make the new house our own. We have been spending weekends wandering around Home Depot and Rona trying to get an idea of what the renovations are going to cost us. We still have no idea, but I bet it's going to cost more than we think it will! We definately have some work to do to finish the basement, and some touch-ups and upgrades throughout the rest of the house. Nothing is really urgent, so it takes most of the pressure off! We do need some new appliances, and I think a new washer and dryer are first on the list.

Mom and Dad are coming to help us move, and to celebrate with us. We haven't seen them for a while, and it will be really nice to have them for a couple of days. It looks like Devin, Angie & Ashton will be coming out to visit in May, so they will be our first official house guests! We are so excited to have them, and see that cute God Son of ours! It is good have have some pressure to finish unpaking before they arrive! Also, Shelley, Peter and the kids are coming to Canada this summer, and are planning on spending a few days in Calgary. Matt has never even met them before, so it will be nice to see them for a few days. Now only if Rod would come back...

Matt was busy the last couple weeks trying to get his final assignments and papers finished, along with writing final exams. He wrote his last exam on Monday! Another year down...Unfortunately, he got really sick in the middle of everything. He went to the doctor a few times, and got some new medication today that seems to be working. He has missed about a week of work but I think he'll be able to go back either tomorrow or Thursday.

Work has been pretty busy for me lately. We normally slow down this time of year, with not much happening in the summer. This year looks like it might be a bit different though! We have been busier than ever, and have no slow-down in sight! It has been a great learning experience for me, I think I've learnt more about the financial industry in the last year and a half than I did in all my years in University! Some days can be pretty stressful, and I have definately come to appreciate my weekends at home!

Matt and I have a pretty busy summer. We have 3 weddings in August, all of which are out of town. Aaron and Karen are getting married in Medicine Hat on August 4th, and Devin and Angie are getting married on August 11th. Matt and I are planning on taking the week inbetween off work and spend some time in Saskatchewan. Jay and Hilary are getting married on August 25th, so we are going back to Saskatoon for another weekend! We would like to get down to Montana for a few days, and I think a camping trip with Ty and Candace is also in the works. Matt is also taking 2 classes to meet some science requirements for some universities, and then writing the MCAT again in July.

I will try to update again soon, but it probably won't be until we are in the new house!!! I hope this finds everyone happy and healthy,
