Welcome to our blog! We wanted to keep a record of our adventures and keep in touch with our friends and family that live in other cities. Matt was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jennifer was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Molly joined our family in January 2007, Caleigh was born in July 2008, and Miller was born in January 2011. Since then, we have been very busy raising our family and having a little fun along the way!

Summer is here!

Lots has changed since my last post! Matt and I are still settling into the new house, and doing quite a few renovations. We have changed all of the lighting, finished the basement, updated the bathrooms and fixed the terrible paint job throughout the entire house! It feels like we have been working on the house all of the time, but it is definately worth it in the end. We have one light fixture to change, our bedroom to paint, and the baseboards to put on in the basement, but other than that, I think we're done with home improvement projects for a while! The few changes we have made have definately updated the home a few years. I think we have done more shopping at Home Depot than any other single store in my life (Well, maybe not including Wal-Mart!!!)

Matt and I also bought a new (to us) truck! We got a Toyota 4Runner from the dealership where Tyler works. It is a great vehicle, and will definately be more reliable than the Neon was! We took it on a road trip last weekend and it was great on the highway. It was nice to pack whatever you wanted and not have to worry about if it will fit in the trunk! I don't think Molly likes it as much, as she lost her back window. She loved that little seating area, and it does not exist on the truck. She'll have to figure something else out.

Matt, Molly and I packed up the Runner and went to Saskatoon for the May Long Weekend. It was great being home again, and we had a lot of fun. Molly was really excited to see her cousin Shadow, and he did a really good job tolerating her 'puppy' behaviour! We tried to go golfing, but got caught in the rain on the 7th hole. Seven holes was plently for the first round of the season! Mom and I went to the salon, and Matt and Dad installed a new hitch on the truck. Mom won a Game Cube, so we spent alot of the weekend playing Mario Cart, and I loved it so much that we bought one when we got back to Calgary. Molly was really good travelling, but can be a 'slightly' misbehaved. I reallyhope she grows out of this soon, but we are looking into obedience schools..she definately needs it!

Devin, Angie and Ashton just came for a visit. They arrived on Sunday afternoon, and went home this morning. They did quite a bit of shopping while in Calgary, and got some more things taken care of for the wedding. They even met me for lunch one day! We spent the evenings relaxing and playing with Ashton. Molly just loves him! I wish we had more time to visit and hang out with them. We really miss them, and definately don't see them as often as we would like to.

Matt and I bought a new washer and dryer, and they are being delivered tonight! This delivery situation has been a mess since we bought them, but we're hoping that The Bay finally gets it right tonight! If we have to go another month without a good washer and dryer, I don't know what I'm going to do.

Matt was finally able to get a seat for the MCAT exam this summer. The exams across Canada were completely full, so at one point we were going to have to go to the States to write the exam. A seat opened up today in Edmonton, so we are going to make a weekend out of it! We haven't been to Edmonton for a few years, so it will be a nice weekend away. The exam is being written at a hotel, and we were able to book a room there that also allows Molly to come along.

Matt has been working full time this summer, which is nice! He is able to drive me to work in the morning, so now I only have to take the train home at night. I'm sure that will change once he goes back to school, but I'll take it while I can!

We are thinking of going camping this weekend, as the weather is supposed to be beautiful. I hope this finds everyone happy, and enjoying a little bit of sunshine!

Home Sweet Home

We are officially moved in! Matt and I took posession of our new house on Friday, April 27. We both took the day off work, and met our real estate agent, Yorkie, there are noon after a morning of cleaning at the old house. After a quick walk-through, our electrician showed up. He had alot of work to do before the inspector came by on Monday. The wiring was done safely, but the setup was not convenient. He fixed the wiring, installed the smoke detector, and finished the ceiling tiles before leaving for the night. Some friends came by in the evening, and my mom and dad came Friday night as well. It was great to have all of those people share that moment with us!

Saturday was moving day! Matt and Wes went to U-Haul to get the truck at 6:30am, while Linda and I started moving things to the garage and packing up the last minute items. Mike came by at about 8:30am, and what a huge help. After a few hours, and a few chases for Molly who took fulll advantage of the open doors on the house, we arrived at the new house. Some friends cam by to give us a hand, and mom got busy cleaning and setting up the kitchen. By 2:30pm, we had the truck unpacked, and most of our stuff in the house or the garage. I was very happy to see that the TV and the sofa fit down the stairs, I honestly didn't think they would! We unpacked quite a few boxes, and weent to bed.

Sunday we all went back to the old house and started to clean. It only took about 2 hours thanks to everyone pitching in and helping out. It sure was nice to be fully moved out of there. It was a nice home while we were there, but Matt and I are definately happier with our new house! When we finally got home, the guys went to Home Depot to buy some new lights and some other things, and mom and I went to The Bay to buy a new washer and dryer! We were hoping the ones that came with the house would have lasted a few months, but they were in such bad shape they needed replaced immediately. Mom and dad helped us out so much that weekend, we never would have gotten it done with out them! Thanks!!! They stayed until the electrical inspector left Monday morning. I was really nice having them for the weekend. Next time they come to Calgary, we promise not to put them to work!

We are still trying to get settled at the new house. We have been working almost everyday to put our own touch on things, replace the things that we don't like (ie. Sunshine Ceiling??? I thought those went extinct in 1982). Matt is still trying to find his office and the garage, and we really need to finish painting! Hopefully by the time that Devin, Angie and Ashton arrive, we will be more organized!

Other than the house, we have still managed to keep ourselves busy. Matt has been working full time, and trying to take some summer classes as well. Molly is growing like a weed, and getting smarter every day! Shaw cable was at the house and she managed to sneak the repair man's screwdriver out of his belt and hide it under the couch without anyone noticing... Work has been good for me lately. The commute sucks now that we've moved, I hate the train! Other than that, things are good. Busy, but good.

Hope to see everyone soon,
