Welcome to our blog! We wanted to keep a record of our adventures and keep in touch with our friends and family that live in other cities. Matt was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jennifer was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Molly joined our family in January 2007, Caleigh was born in July 2008, and Miller was born in January 2011. Since then, we have been very busy raising our family and having a little fun along the way!

Molly's First Day of School!

They grow up so fast... ;)

Molly, Matt and I have signed up for Puppy School! We go to class every Monday for 2 hours and are learning some new skills. We have a homework assignment every week, something new to work on until our next class. This week, Molly needed to learn how to listen to commands when there is a distraction. We have been working on sit and stay while in the park, as well as learning how to 'Loose-Leash' walk. It has defintely been a challenge, but she has been picking up pretty quickly. It is something that we will have to work with her for a while, but at least Matt and I are learning how to train her properly.

Matt was supposed to write the MCAT this summer in Edmonton. As it turns out, they released additional dates in Calgary so now he is able to write here at home. I was excited to get out of town for a 4-day weekend, but I guess now we can actually plan a nice long weekend in Montana or Vancouver. I think either place would be a great place to relax for a few days before Matt has to go back to school.

Matt and I are getting pretty excited about going on our summer holidays. We are planning on heading to Saskatchewan after Aaron and Karen's wedding. Hopefully we will be able to head out to the lake to have a few days laying in the sun and maybe some golfing. I know it's not until August, be we're pretty excited already!

Peter, Shelley, Jack, Chad and Taylor are coming to Calgary for a visit. They will be here next week for a few days. They will be spending the weekend in Canmore and Banff, and trying to get a day or two in at the Stampede. It will be nice for them to see our new house, meet Molly, and believe it or not, they have never even met Matt! I have not seen them for almost 2 years, and the last time they were in Canada, Matt was in Asia, so they completely missed each other! It will be great to catch up!

Matt has been pretty busy at the hospital lately. They are understaffed right now, and are looking to Matt to pick up all of the extra shifts. Unfortunately, it would mean him working 16 hour days while he is taking a summer class, so it is just not possible for him. I have been relaly busy at work as well. We have had a few key people leave the company for several different reasons, and we have not been able to replace them yet. Hopefully everything will slow down soon!

We had our housewarming party on the weekend. We had such a great ime,a nd want to thank all of our friends that came over to see the new place! We had a few drinks, and played a few games. All in all, a great night.

Other than that, there is not too much going on here. We do have puppy class again tonight, and we are pretty nervous about Molly being able to show off her new skills!

Hope this finds everyone enjoying their summer,

Summer in Calgary

Well, Things around our house are slowing getting back to normal. We have been in the new house for almost two months, and it is starting to feel like home. We finally got the garage unpacked. It was full of boxes that hadn't been touched since the move! Matt and I spent a weekend unpacking boxes, throwing stuff out, and organizing the last of our stuff. We bought a shelving system for the garage, just to get some of our storage off the ground, and boxed everything properly. It was a really big job, but I'm really glad we finally got it done! We have also bought the baseboards, and painted them, but we haven't put them in the basement yet. One of Matt's friends has a nail gun and a table saw that we can borrow and hopefully make the job a little easier.

Matt and I went for a nice dinner for our 6 month anniversary. If it hadn't been for my mom, neither Matt nor I would have remembered! We went to the Red Water Grill and had a really nice meal. This is definately something that Matt and I stopped doing since we bought the house, and I really miss going for long dinners!

Matt has been extremely busy this summer. He has been working 6 days a week, while trying to study for the physics class he is taking, and study for the MCAT. We are going on holidays in August, and we are already looking forward to it. Molly has been learning how to swim, so it will be great to take her to the lake and see if she can do it there!

The infamous Jarod Ruff has returned to Calgary. It looks like he will be spending the majority of the summer between Calgary and Medicine Hat, and will not be returning to his travels until early fall of this year. It is really nice to see him and Jane again!

Hope this finds everyone enjoying their summer,
