Welcome to our blog! We wanted to keep a record of our adventures and keep in touch with our friends and family that live in other cities. Matt was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jennifer was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Molly joined our family in January 2007, Caleigh was born in July 2008, and Miller was born in January 2011. Since then, we have been very busy raising our family and having a little fun along the way!

Waaaaaaay to long...

Sorry it has been so long since my last update, I have no idea where time goes!

Quite a bit has happened since last November. Matt and I travelled to Saskatoon on November 16 to celebrate a few birthdays! Angie's birthday was on the 15th, Ashton turned one on the 18th, and Shane's birthday was on the 22nd. It was nice to see everyone again! We went out to a club for Angie's birthday, which turned out to be quite an adventure. I honestly don't remember the last time that Matt and I were at a night club, and I think we felt pretty old there! Ashton's birthday was on Sunday, and they had the party at Mom and Dad's house. Quite a few people came by, and he got ALOT of good presents! Just before his birthday, Ashton started to walk! It was very exciting to see him walking around. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVERYONE!!!

Matt worked really hard last semester, and was very busy getting papers finished and exams written throughout November and December. This is his last year of school, and he is really concerned about keeping his grades high. He did manage to finish everything on December 13 and was able to relax a bit before Christmas.

December was full of Christmas parties. We went to Ryan and Elyse's house on December 8th, and it was very nice. I had our client Christmas party on December 12th at Belgo, which is always a good time. We went to Cochrane to have dinner with Matt's family on December 15. It was really nice to see everyone, and Grandma Carswell was able to come to Calgary from Medicine Hat. Matt drove her home the next day. I like being able to see so many people around the holidays, but it always makes for a very busy December!

Matt and I had planned on hosting Christmas in Calgary this year for my whole family. We were really busy trying to get the house ready for everyone. It was definately the push wen needed to get a few projects completed that we had been putting off for a few months! It was going to be a tight squeeze in our little house, but well worth it! Shane and Paige had never been to our new house, and it was going to be very exciting having everyone around. My family was going to arrive on December 22 and stay until December 26. They guys were planning on spending a few days snowboarding in the mountains, and the girls were going to spend a few days (and a few dollars!) at the mall finishing up some last minute shopping. Matt and I were then going to go to Kicking Horse with our friends Dean and Robyn to get some snowboarding done from December 27 to 31. Matt and I had definately filled up our week of holidays!

On December 21 we got a phone call from my mom who said that Grandpa Stevens was very sick. He had been having some heart problems in the weeks prior, but they seemed to be under control. Unfortunately, Grandpa had a heart attack earlier that day and was not doing well. We weren't sure what was going to happen, and when everyone would be able to come to Calgary. Matt and I decided on Saturday morning that it would be best to move Christmas to Saskatoon so the the family could be together at a time like this. We actually managed to get all of the groceries, presents, and everything else that we had for Christmas into the truck and went to Saskatoon that morning. Once we arrived, Matt, Linda and I went to the hospital to have a visit with Grandpa. We got to spend quite a bit of time with him, and had a really nice visit. We went home that night feeling very confident in a full recovery. Unfortunately, he had another heart attack throughout the night, and was not able to recover. The entire family was able to make it to the hospital in time to say goodbye. Grandpa was an incredible man. He loved his family more than anything else in life, and has taught us all some very important life lessons. He is dearly missed. We love you very much Grandpa.

We had a great Christmas in Saskatoon. It was really nice to see all of the family again. It was a very busy house! Molly was very busy all week chasing after Nala, I think she slept for 3 days straight once we got back to Calgary! I think everyone got spoiled this year. Matt was the most spoiled and got a new set of Calaway Irons from his beautiful wife! It was definately a golf themed Christmas for him, as he got a new golf coat, a new bag, and a bunch of new accessories! I got some clothes, new LuLu pants (which I've wore everyday since I got them), some gift cards to go shopping, and a new ring from Matt! Very, very spoiled!

Matt and I travelled back to Calgary on December 30th. We decided it would be nice to have a few days in Calgary before heading back to work and school. Matt and I went out for dinner on New Year's eve, and then watched a movie at home. We were very tired after our busy week in Saskatoon and decided to have a quiet night at home!

Shane and Paige came to Calgary to go snowboarding before they had to go back to school. They were here for a few days, and Matt even went with them for a day. It was nice to have them come for a visit. Paige and I went shopping, and Matt and Shane went to try out Matt's new golf clubs. They were here the weekend of Matt's staff Christmas party, but we had already decided not to go, so we just hung out with them!

It was Devin's birthday on January 5th, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEVIN!

It was also our first Wedding Anniversary on January 9th. I can't believe it has been a year already! Time flies when you're having fun. Mom and Dad gave us some cash to go on a date, so we went to the Keg for dinner on Saturday. It was really nice. We talked about how much we've done in the last year, and where the next few years are going to take us. I think we were both a little suprised at how quickly this year went by.

Probably the most exciting news since my last post.........Matt and I are going to have a baby! we are about 3 months along now, and I am feeling really good. The first while was a little rough, but things have definately improved. We have had a few doctors appointments, as well as an ultrasound, and everything seems to be progressing normally. We go for another ultrasound on Friday,a nd hopefully we will be able to find out if it is a girl or a boy. Matt and his friend Stuart have been turning the office into a nursery, and it is almost complete! We have been shopping for furniture, and it has been really hard not to buy all of the pretty little baby things we see! Everyone is really excited for us, and we have already received some really great gifts. I don't know what I would do without Angie! She sent us bags full of maternity clothes, baby clothes, bottles, a monitor, and a bunch of other baby stuff. We can't wait until July when we can bring the baby home!

Matt and I are planning on going to Montana for a week in February. I think Paige and Shane might join us. Should be alot of fun. They can go snowboarding, and I can go shopping! It will be really nice to get away from everything for a while!

I hope this finds everyone enjoying the new year, and can't wait to see everyone soon!

Love you lots,
