8 Months Old....
Caleigh is 8 months old today. Time flies.....
I can't believe that Caleigh is already 8 months old. It just hit me the other day that I will have to go back to work soon. I think it will be a huge adjustment, but I'm not going to think about it again until the week before I have to be back! We have found a great day home for Caleigh, so I hope that will make the transition easier. It will be really hard to leave her, but I keep telling myself that it is not permanent, and I think it will make the weekends around our house even more special.
Caleigh and I finished our swimming lessons last week. It was a great experience, and Matt and I are going to try to take her to public swim as much as possible. She absolutely loves the water, and was getting pretty comfortable in the pool. She would float on her front and her back (with mom's help, of course) and was trying to blow bubbles. The only real problem we had was with her drinking the pool water! Any chance she got she would take a big mouthful. She has been learning so much lately. She will stick her tongue out at you, she is working on waving goodbye, and says mom and dada all day long! She babbles quite a bit now, and will try to repeat what you are saying to her. She is rolling around on the floor quite a bit, and will stand holding onto you, or a piece of furniture. Still not crawling though. I'm sure it will come in time. We finally bought a carpet for the living room so she wouldn't have to fight with the hardwoods. I am hoping that will help her to crawl.
We went on Saturday for family pictures. They turned out really well! It was really inexpensive so our hopes weren't very high, but they are great! I hope we keep getting pictures taken every 6 months or so, it is such a treat to have new pictures around the house! Caleigh did really well. I was a little worried as we had to skip her morning nap for the photo shoot. She smiled and laughed the whole time! What a little trooper.
We are trying to get geared up for Spring, but it keeps snowing! We got about 18" of snow on Sunday. It has been such a long winter, I can't wait for it to be over! Dad had to come to Calgary for business again and drove through another spring storm. We keep telling him to bring Mom with him soon! Matt and I have talked about getting a yearly pass for the Calgary Zoo, and I would love to go soon. Weather like this makes it really hard to get outside and enjoy the spring.
We are getting ready for Matt's big hockey game on Saturday. It is the Annual VP Cup, and it should be a good time. I think all of the guys are going out afterwards, but it will already be a late night for the girls, so we are just planning on going home after the game.
The weekend after that we will be heading to Saskatoon again. Matt has a conference in Saskatoon, and then flies to Kelowna for meetings. Caleigh, Molly and I will stay in Saskatoon for the week, which should be a good time. We also get to spend Easter with everyone! I know it hasn't been that long since our last trip, but I can't wait to go again! It is great that Devin, Angie and Ashton are in Saskatoon again. Easter morning with Ashton should be pretty funny!
Hope Spring finds you soon,
J&M&C&M
