Almost August Already????

I cannot believe how fast time flies! So much has changed lately, I will try to update everything that has been happening around here!
On June 3, Mom and Dad came to Calgary. It was great to have them here again. Dad came for work, and mom came to help us with Caleigh as I had surgury in Canmore on June 5. I finally had the vein fixed on my right leg, and although it was very painful, I am very happy with the results and glad that I had it done.
Caleigh spent most of June teething. She got her first tooth on May 23, second on June 8, third on June 21 and the fourth on July 3.
On July 5, Caleigh gave us quite a scare. She had been grumpy for a couple of days, but she was teething so we didn't think too much about it. On Sunday night, she had some blood in her diaper. We rushed her to the Children's Hospital where they did quite a few tests throughout the night before they diagnosed her with intussesseption. Basically, her small bowel folded inside her large bowel and it was being cut off from blood supply. They did a contrast-fluid enima and were able to correct it without surgury. After staying in the hospital for a few days, the sent us home. She seems to be fine now, but it was a very stressful time for all of us. My mom came out to Calgary to help us, and she was fantastic (as always!). It was really great to have her support and let us catch up from a very stressful week. We love you mom!
For my birthday, Matt got us tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert! It was the Friday night during Stampede, and we had so much fun! We went a little early so we could have a beer and a corn dog. The concert was great, and we had so much fun.
Auntie Amanda finally finished articling for her law degree and we got to go to her bar call on July 17. It was alot of fun, and it was so great to see her finish this chapter of her life! We went to the courthouse for the ceremony, to her office for a reception will her colleagues, and then to the SaltLick for dinner. It was a great day, and we are very proud of her for this huge accomplishment!
The day after Amanda's bar call, Matt, Caleigh, Molly & I drove to Emma Lake for our summer holidays! We haven't been to the lake for 2 years, and it was so great to be back there again. It was definately different this year having Caleigh there. We had to bring so much stuff, and kindof kicked Mom and dad out of their trailer. We feel really bad about it, and we may have some different arrangements for next year ;). Cals had so much fun at the lake. I think she ate her weight in sand and rocks, but she was always smiling. I just can't believe how much she loved her blow-up airplane for the lake, riding in the boat, and even taking tube rides! She would squeal everytime you put her in the boat or the tube, and laugh and clap through the whole ride. Molly was in heaven playing outside, and had lots of fun with Shadow, Bhody, and Nala. Matt and I were able to go golfing, and spend time catching up with my family. Matt was even able to fit in a round of golf at Elk Ridge, and spend some time fishing. We had such a great time, and can't wait to get back there next year.
While we were at the lake, we celebrated Caleigh's first birthday. I just can't believe how quickly time flies. She had so much fun at her party, and ate alot of cake! She got lots of cute gifts, and had alot of fun playing with her cousins...and the balloons!
Shane left for Europe on July 26. He is going to be spending the next 4 or 5 weeks touring around and seeing several different countries. I know he'll have a great time, and it had definately inspired Matt and I to start thinking about going to europe ourselves!
The day after we returned from the lake, I started back to work. It is a huge adjustment for all of us, and has been really tough up to this point. I just need to give it some more time. It is getting better and better every day, but I think it will just take a while to get into a rhythm. Caleigh is at a day home that is great. I don't think we could ask for anything better. Michi is so loving and caring, and her kids are great with Caleigh. My new position will be challenging, but I think it is a great opportunity.
Devin, Angie, and Ashton are coming to Calgary for a visit! We can't wait! They will be here for a weekend at the end of August, which will be a great time.
Hope you are enjoying your summer,
M&J&C&M
