Summer is Finally Here!!!

Hi Everyone,
It looks like summer has finally arrived. Spring has been cold, snowy, and very wet, so hopefully summer will bring lots of sunshine.
Matt and I have been pretty busy lately with the house. It is starting to feel like a home, which is what we have been working so hard towards. Matt and Stu were able to get the deck started this week, which is great! The pilings are done, and the support beams are installed, so hopefully by this time next week we will actually have a deck! Matt has also been working very hard on the lawn. I'm sure it will take quite a bit of time to look perfect, but it already looking much better. Matt and I built a nice planter, and a garden which we are really enjoying. Molly has been enjoying burying her bones there as well - we might have to find her a new spot! Caleigh has been loving the yard, her pool, and the sandbox. Most days it is a battle to get her inside for dinner, but it has been so nice watching her enjoy the new space.
Caleigh went on her first solo vacation earlier this month. We drove her to Oyen to meet with Great Grandma, Grandma and Grandpa. They took her up to the lake for a few days with Ashie, and spent lots of time jumping on beds, going for 'boap' rides (boat for those of you who are not well versed on toddler speak...) and generally getting spoiled rotten. Matt and I really enjoyed our time alone, but by the end of the week we were both missing her very much. We were really happy to have her back!
She did learn a new trick recently that shook things up a little for us. She learned how to jump out of her crib! Very confusing the first time - How did you get here? Did your dad let you out? Whats going on? I was so confused.... Anyway, we converted her crib into a day bed, and after a couple long nights of her exploring whenever she wanted, and just showing up downstairs an hour after she was put to bed (ninja-moves as Matt would say), she finally figured out that she needs to stay in her bed. She's not too happy about it most nights, but she always stays there.
We are on holidays next week - back up to Emma for a few days! I'm very excited, as I haven't really had time off since Christmas. It will be nice to get a little R&R and maybe a little sunshine on the beach.....
Hope everyone has a great summer,
All our thoughts, prayers, and love to Andy, Nat, Colin, Missy and the kids.....
