Hello Spring!
Things around here have been pretty busy lately. We took possession of the new house on March 26. Both Matt and I took a few days off of work so that we could move, unpack, and work on some renovations. A bunch of Matt's friends came to help us on Saturday, which meant that we could cancel the movers! What a savings! We have fence guys come the day after we moved so Molly could have a big yard to run in, and Caleigh has been out there on her new slide. Matt and I have been busy painting and doing some repais. There were a few holes in the walls, and some general neglect. Nothing a little TLC can't fix! I'm sure Matt and I won't be done the improvements and upgrades for quite some time, but we are having alot of fun in the mean time!
Weekends since the move have been busy doing yard work and playing outside. Mom, Dad and Shane all came to Calgary for Easter. Shane spent the weekend snowboarding - and teaching Caleigh how to bartend! Dad bought Matt a lawnmore as a house warming gift, and they spent the weekend getting the yard organized, the lawn mowed and raked, and building a staircase from the dining room to the backyard. Mom was an amazing help, I think all of our clothes would still be in garbage bags if she didn't help! We put up shelving, organized the laundry room and the pantry, and did a little decorating.
Caleigh was really excited about Easter this year! She wasn't really sure why there was candy hidden all over the house, but she was loving running all over searching for treasures! It was really nice to have everyone here for the weekend.
Matt and I packed up and went to Saskatoon for Mother's Day. I don't think we have been back since Christmas, so it was really nice to see everyone again. Matt and Dad went out to the farm to pick up the boat which was grat since he had never been out there before. Mom and I went shopping on Friday, and spent Saturday getting ready for the barbeque on Saturday. Peter and Shelley were up from Carolina, so they finally got to meet Caleigh. The weather was great, and it was so nice to see all of the kids playing together in the yard.
I don't think Matt and I have too much planned for the next few weekends. Caleigh is going to spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa at the end of May. Matt and I are really excited to have a week off, but I am very nervous to be without my little one for that long. I am also going to take her for a week to the lake at the beginning of July. We have our family summer holidays planned for the last week of July, including Caleigh's 2nd birthday party! Should be a good time.
I think that's about all that has happened here lately. Sometimes I think I've bitten off more than I can chew...
