Welcome to our blog! We wanted to keep a record of our adventures and keep in touch with our friends and family that live in other cities. Matt was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and Jennifer was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Molly joined our family in January 2007, Caleigh was born in July 2008, and Miller was born in January 2011. Since then, we have been very busy raising our family and having a little fun along the way!

Halifax!!!

We have been so busy lately....

On May 12, Caleigh and I took a flight to Saskatoon. Her first plane ride! Matt and Molly took us to the airport and we made it through security without any problems. The plane ride was a different story... Before the plane even took off, she started screaming. She stopped screaming about 10 minutes before we landed. It was a very long flight for both of us, and for everyone else on the plane! We spent a great week in Saskatoon, and Matt and Molly drove out on Friday for Colin and Nicole's wedding. Friday night we went to Uncle Ron and Auntie Shelley's for the rehearsal party, which was a really great time. Saturday was the wedding, and it was so beautiful. Caleigh did really well throughout the ceremony and the reception. She actually fell asleep in her stroller during the dance! We had a great time. We left Molly in Saskatoon with Mom and Dad so they could watch her for us while we're in Halifax.

I guess I should explain why we were going to Halifax in the first place. Matt was no longer really happy at Philips, so he started searching for a new job. He was told about several opportunities available through the headhunter, but the position the interested him the most was a sugical sales position with CanMed Health Care. He interviewed in Edmonton, and then they flew him out to meet everyone at their head office in Halifax prior to offering him the position! He is very excited about the challenges and opportunities that this new position offers. They wanted him to come to Halifax for a week for training, and they invited Caleigh and I to join him!

On May 24, Matt, Caleigh and I flew to Halifax. I was really worried about the flights after the disasterous flight to Saskatoon, but she did so well! I was so proud of her! Once we arrived, we just got to the hotel and got settled in. Matt had to be at work very early the next morning and it had already been a long day. Caleigh doesn't really understand 'time change' so we struggled with the 3 hour difference for most of the week. Matt left for work Monday morning, and Caleigh and I began to explore. Halifax is a beautiful city, and the people are incredibly friendly. We spent Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday exploring through downtown and the pier. On Tuesday night, the three of us went to The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. They have a great display of items recovered from the Titanic, which was really interesting. Thursday night Matt's boss invited us to her house for dinner, and lent us her vehicle so we could stop at Peggy's Cove along the way. It was a beautiful drive, and dinner was fantastic. It was a great opportunity and I am so glad that we were able to explore Peggy's Cove. The weather on Friday was miserable, so Caleigh and I just hung out at the hotel all day. Matt took us to the Five Fishermen for dinner, the lobster was really good. On Saturday, we explored Pier 21 which was really interesting and then we took a tour of the Alexander Keith's brewery. It was a really nice day, and we had a lot of fun! The trip to Halifax was great, and I am really glad that we got to go.

Unfortunately while we were in Halifax, Parker got sick. He has been in the hospital for over a week, but it sounds like he is doing much better. We got to visit him tonight, and it was really nice to see him again and spend some time with Mike and Caroline. We feel very helpless in this situation, and just really want them to know that we love them and will be there for them if they need anything.

Our little girl is growing up! She has a tooth!!! We thought it would never happen, but it finally has. It looks like the other tooth on the bottom is about to break through as well. She is still not crawling, but she can roll anywhere she needs to go! She is also trying really hard to talk. She says Mom, Dad, duck, uh oh, and up. Before we know it she will be asking for the car keys!

Mom and Dad are coming tomorrow for a visit and to help us on Friday. I am finally having surgury on my leg, so they are going to watch Cals while I am at the hospital.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer,
M&J&C&M
